Tiesto.  The name of this Dutch superstar has been synonymous with EDM music for almost a decade.  Up until the last few years, Tiesto, or DJ Tiesto as he used to be known, was the only name we thought of when we heard the word “techno”.

Everyone has their own memory of the first EDM song(s) they ever listened to.  For me, it was a couple of Tiesto  songs I downloaded using Kazaa or LimeWire(remember those??) about 8 years ago.  I forgot the specific tracks a long time ago, but Tiesto’s name stuck with me.  The Dutch legend has shown true staying power over the past decade as he as reinvented himself more times than David Bowie, and it’s scary to think that, in another 10 years, people will still probably be listening to Tiesto.

They say imitation is the most sincerest form of flattery so we are presenting some Tiesto classics along with their corresponding modern day reworkings plus a few favorites.  Check out these Tiesto throwbacks after the jump.

First, we have an absolute classic.  Traffic was released on Tiesto’s 2004 album, Just Be, and it was the first instrumental track to reach #1 on the Dutch charts in 23 years.  It was reworked by Tristan Garner, who has been known more recently for Overdrive and his newest track Raven(keep an eye out for it).

Another single off the same album is Love Comes Again, which features vocals from BT(Brian Transeau).  One of this year’s hottest producers, Hardwell, recently got his hands on it and added some of his signature style.
