Finally, after much anticipation, Wavefront Music Festival has announced its official after parties, and they came through with something for fans of every genre. They will be going on Saturday and Sunday night after the festival at various spots around the city, which means you have somewhere to go and drink away the pain of any sunburn you might have picked up during the day while listening to some of the best artists in the world. They also recently announced a special viewing party on Friday, June 29th from 5-10 PM featuring Serge Devant, Lee Curtiss, and Benoit & Sergio. Tickets are $40.
I have been saying all summer that Wavefront is the festival I am most excited to attend, and it is specifically because of the unique experience they are offering. First of all, “wavefront” is not hyperbole, the venue is literally a beach, which is exactly where I want to be listening to music in the summertime. Second, the lineup is stacked with DJs you just can’t see at most of the other festivals out there. Wavefront is an ode to true house, progressive, techno and electronica, and it’s delivering legends like Erick Morillo, Eric Prydz, Sasha and Steve Lawler in the process. I love all this stuff just as much as I love the new up-and-coming stars and chart-topping festival headliners of today, and Wavefront is a great opportunity for a new generation of music fans to get to know them. It doesn’t hurt that it probably has the cheapest tickets of any festival I will be attending. If you don’t own a private jet to fly to Ibiza, the next best thing will be in Chicago on June 30th/July 1st. Don’t have tickets yet? You can get them here.
Check out our preview post for more, and check out the after parties below. Expect to see me at Erick Morillo or Boys Noize on Saturday, and either A-Trak or Eric Prydz, if I can find a way to get a ticket, on Sunday. See you there.
