Walden, fully known as John Walden, the 18-year-old Progressive House/Electro DJ Producer from Sydney, Australia signed to Big Beat Records, the dance label of music’s Atlantic Records, gave his fans two free downloads on SoundCloud, but not before getting feedback from his fans.
He asked his Facebook fans yesterday:
“Ok serious question, do you guys want me to put out my typical progressive/electro track for free? Or would you rather hear a different side to my sound, and have me release something completely unexpected?”
The majority of responses were demanding something unexpected, a handful wanted Walden’s typical style and some even asked for both, to which he responded he was only giving away one. In the end, he wound up surprising his fans with two free downloads, “Upness” and “Riding The Sun”.
Catching up briefly on my Walden tunes and then giving a listen to “Upness”, I think it’s a great progressive/electro tune and was happy to get to download this. I could definitely hear him developing a great style and I love the breakdown.
The second tune “Riding The Sun” definitely sounds more experimental than his other tracks but no less a great tune. I love the piano melodies in his tracks, and it’s no different in the beginning of this one, it’s just beautiful when the beat comes in.
